Minecraft Pocket Edition may be small, but it’s got some pretty huge features. And it’s getting even more very soon thanks to a new patch that will add things like gold mines to Mesa biomes.

The 0.10 patch for Minecraft Pocket Edition is mostly focussed on fixing bug problems to the game runs much better for players, but it also comes with a set of new features to make playing it even more fun. You’ll be able to choose between day and night when setting up a new creative mode game, so you can either play in the sunshine or the dark. Fences and gates will now work better than before, so you can build a good high fence around your base and put a gate on it so you can come in and out safely, but keep those zombies and creepers away from your house.

The graphics of the game are also getting an update, and you’ll notice that the fog, water, and lighting in the game looks much better than before. If you’re playing on a big-screen phone or a tablet the game should look really amazing!

Also if you’ve been losing lots of baby animals because they keep drowning in water, don’t worry. That’s getting fixed in this patch, so no more animals will die if they try to go for a swim!

Mojang will announce when the 0.10 patch for Minecraft Pocket Edition will release soon. For more amazing stories about the brilliantly blocky world of Minecraft, check out our Minecraft channel.
