There’s a brand new way to play Minecraft now, thanks to a cool new mod. CivCraft combines the ideas of the PC strategy game Civilization with Minecraft, and the aim of the game is to control as much of the Minecraft world as possible!

To play, you need to use the CivCraft mod which can be downloaded from the CivCraft website, or join one of the CivCraft servers.  Then you join with other players to make a clan, and mark your territory by building villages. Several villages can join together to form a civilization, and when these are created you can unlock new technologies like weapons and buildings.

When you have a civilization setup, you’ll need to keep it going by building farms and mines to keep the people fed and supplied. Your team can go out and find new resources to help build your abilities and unlock new technologies and benefits.
