5) Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
Lots of people constantly argue about what the best Zelda game is. Ocarina of Time is always talked about, but we think The Wind Waker is definitely the winner. The Wind Waker is ten years old now, but Nintendo decided to release it on Wii U this year with better graphics and improved controls.
There’s lots of new gameplay additions too, so even if you have played the original version on the Gamecube there’s still reason to play the HD Wii U game. A new item called the Tingle Bottle allows you to send messages to the Miiverse if you get stuck and need to ask someone for tips. Sailing has also been improved because lots of people thought the old boats were too fiddly. Now you can get the Red Sail for your ship which will make the wind blow in the right direction, so exploring the smaller islands is much easier.
If you’re looking for a challenge, The Wind Waker HD has Hero Mode, the difficulty level that was in Skyward Sword. With this mode turned on enemies cause twice the normal damage to Link, and hearts don’t appear in the game, so you have to drink potions to get health back. This is definitely a mode only for the very best Zelda players. Do you think you’re up for the challenge?
