This is really amazing: a whole, full-size R2-D2 droid made from LEGO. And that’s not all. It’s not just a model; this R2-D2 can move, spin its head, and flash its lights, all like the real thing! It’s one of the most amazing Star Wars LEGO projects we’ve ever seen. Check it out in action in this video.

The R2-D2 is made from 16,000 LEGO bricks. It’s not all LEGO though, otherwise it would just fall apart when it moved. The ‘skeleton’ is made of metal, and the ‘shell’ is built around it witH white and blue LEGO bricks. It weighs 30kg and is over a meter tall! And best of all, there’s a motor inside to make it move! Creators Shawn and Lara Steele can control R2 with a Microsoft Surface tablet.
