Slot car racing is a lot of fun, but counting how many laps you’ve completed and arguing over who’d won, not to mention getting tangled in cables, can be a pain.

Scalextric new ARC AIR system solves both these problems at one. It connect the physical slot cars to an app that tracks laps, pit stops and event fastest times. It also adds in wireless controllers to it’s easy to jump up and get your car back on course when you spin out.

The app has some other nice features too like adding in changing weather, oil spills and fuel/tyre wear. All in all it transforms Scalextrics into a game to more than compete with the likes on Anki Overdrive‘s new tech.
