We love finding incredible LEGO builds to share with you, and this one is really special. It’s a model of the Roman Colosseum: a massive theatre that the Romans used to watch Gladiator fights in. But this LEGO model is really interesting, because half shows what the Colosseum would have looked like when it was first built, and the other half shows what it looks like now!

The model was built by Ryan McNaught, who is a professional LEGO builder. It’s made of a quarter of a million LEGO bricks, making it one of the biggest builds we’ve ever seen! In the half that shows what it would have looked like in Ancient Rome, the Colosseum is full of spectators and Gladiators fight in the arena below. In the other half you can see what the Colosseum looks like today; all crumbling and not a gladiator in sight! The building is over 2,000 years old, so it’s no surprise it’s looking a bit shabby these days.

If you live in Australia you can see the model on display at Bathurst Regional Art Gallery in Sydney, New South Wales. It’s on display until 26th January.
